    Not stressing!

I think I'm ready to feed the neighborhood!   Tee hee ha ha

Actually we are having 23 people come to supper this year.  I thought my hubby's eyes were gonna pop out when he asked me for the total number!  tee hee ha ha
We really do not have a place to seat them all at once.  I've tried to re-arrange lots of stuff to make it happen.   But the most I can do is 20 with 2 of those standing.  tee hee... I figure the main thing we do is say grace together and then by the time the first person in line is done eating the last person in line should be ready to sit down.  so it'll all work out.  The funny thing is I shut all TV's off during dinner.   HA!   That goes over like a fart in church I tell ya!

So I'm not really stressed this year.  Heck I've been doing it long enough and the fact that I delegate stuff out.  I used to do it all.  And it was always so much work and I hated it.  So I made some compromises with everyone and it works out fabulous.  Now if I can just convince my brother that he has all day today to prepare his breads (he found my bread machine and he thinks it's fun and cool and all that) instead of any of tomorrow I should be good.  tee hee!!

    HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING ALL!!
LOVE YA TONS AND DON'T WORRY IF THE ROLLS ARE BURNED, IT GIVES YOU HUMOR FOR THE YEARS TO COME!
My goal this year is not to set the stove on fire, it's been done for 3 years in a row now.  I'm breaking that tradition this year.  And it's not my fault, my sis in law does it!   I try to explain every year now remember we did this last year and there were flames on my ELECTRIC stove.   Tee hee ha ha   ahhhhhh the memories....
Oh and one year I made devil eggs.... yep cut them the wrong way...  See it's stuff that seems so horrible the day of that make me laugh for years to come!!!

    snow

I don't get it.  We live in M!ch!gan people!  Yes there is snow!   There has always been snow.  So why oh why do you forget how to drive in it every year?!?!?!    UGGH!!  I live 4 miles from work and my drive is usually a breeze.  Last night to get home it took me 20 minutes!!   And this morning coming in... 15!   I can usually do the drive anywhere between 4-8 minutes depending on the lights.  I am thankful I have no further drive as I remember the 1.5 hour drive in the snow.
Seriously think that all driving tests should be done in the snow.   Don't get me wrong I know that you should slow down and use much more caution with this weather but c'mon!  They act like this is CA and it's the first snow in 100 years!  tee hee ha ha

Just a rant!   tune in again for a happy blog.  Tee hee ha ha

There is was only 1 inch last night and today we have a total of 2 inches on the ground.
No salt is available.  So it should be an interesting winter here.
Take care all and enjoy your snow drives!

    Best wishes for you!

Just wanted to send my best wishes for a safe, happy, healthy Thanksgiving.
I hope that the family is fun with no fights, I hope the rolls are done with no blackness.  I hope that your turkey is moist and full of flavor and the dog doesn't eat it before your company can enjoy it.

Take care and remember it's called THANKS-GIVING!   Feel free to thank the ones you love for all they have given you.

SO THANKS FOR BEING MY FRIENDS WHEN MY WORLD IS DARK I SEE YOU STANDING THERE WITH THE LIGHTS BURNING BRIGHT.   THANK YOU!!

Here's a joke to keep ya smilin!

    The Parrot
A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back.  John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.  John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly open the door to the freezer, the parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING! J

What Love means to a 4-8 year old . .

Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is  so worth it.

Touching words from the mouth of babes.

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds,

    'What does love mean?'

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined

    See what you think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'
    Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'
    Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'
    Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'
    Chrissy - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'
    Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'
    Danny - age 7

'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that.
They look gross when they kiss'
    Emily - age 8

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents
    and listen.'
    Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'
    Nikka - age 6

(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'
    Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'
    Tommy - age 6

'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.

He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'
    Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'
    Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'
    Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'
    Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'
    Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'
    Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image)
    Karen - age 7

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'
    Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'
    Jessica - age 8

    And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

The good the bad and poopin

I'm doing o.k. these days, not great but o.k.
Last week a good friend was killed in an auto accident.  I found that out as I was driving back from a funeral I had attended. UGH!
This past weekend I had the stomach flu.
I think my sister needs an intervention.
My friend that was killed in February should have been celebrating her birthday this weekend. Monday is more court stuff, then the first week of December more.
thanksgiving is coming and family is being difficult.

I'm dealing with a very heavy heart this week.  So what did I do last night to pick me up???? Went to play with lil man of course!!!  (reminder he's 3yrs old)
Here's part of our conversation as we were playing with cars and trucks:

HIM:  I pooped on the potty today.
ME:  WOW you did!  Wahoo!  (dancing around).  Good for you big boy I guess we should call you big man from now on.
HIM:  No you call me just Doug.
ME:  O.k. ... So isn't it so cool to be a big boy now and do that and not have to worry about getting changed and it taking so much time away from playing?
    HIM:  Yeah.  It's cool.
HIM:  Can you call the Poop fairy and let her know I went on the potty? *(see below for explanation of poop fairy)*
    ME:  Sure I'll call her.
HIM:  Do you think the poop fairy knows Santa Claus?
Me:  I think they are good friends.
HIM:  Make sure you call her then OK?
    ME:  O.k. I will.

**How the poop fairy came about:
For some reason this kid refused to go poop on the potty.  I guess it's pretty common with boys. I dunno.
So I told him the Halloween F@iry called me to ask me why he's not doing his business on the potty.  And to let him know that she may not let him go trick or treating if he doesn't at least try.   Because there are lots of lil boys out there that don't have a costume that do their business on the potty.   Of course his eyes were as big as saucers!  He asks, so will she come and take my costume if I go in my pants?   I said yes I think so.
Well it worked a bit.  He was trying and actually did it a few times before Halloween he comes to my house and he's talking so fast I can't understand him... I did it! I did it! call her! call now. tell her I did it!! not to take my costume they get their own.   WHOA buddy slow down what are you trying to tell me?   He went on the potty!
So that night the fairy visited his house.  She left a note with feathers and sparkles all around the paper telling him good job and Happy Halloween.  You could tell which way she came from as well because there were lots of feathers outside as well.
Well it's not Halloween anymore right so she must just be the poop fairy to him! tee hee ha ha

As far as the ugly in my world right now.  I'm a very blessed person.  And I know I will get though this too.

    November 04

    recap of the weekend.

Friday...Trick or treaters started a bit early.  Had to run to finish my prepping.   Didn't need to light the jack o lanterns as it was still daylight (our trick or treat goes from 6-7).  Had some very cute costumes.  I did run into the house while a friend was there so I could use the restroom.  When I came out she had a look on her face.  I said what did you see a good costume or something and she said, no a 40+ year old woman came by with a pacifier on her finger and said I need candy.  I said you didn't give her any did you?   And she said yes, I was worried she'd come back with eggs or something.
The cutest hands down costume I saw... boy dressed as Col. Sanders of KFC.  Complete with cane and bucket.  Oh too cute.  He thought the adults were all laughing at him.  We were trying to laugh with him.
The girls cute costume was.....Ms. America.  She was related to the above some how and when I asked if I could have their photo she grabbed him and posed him.  Too funny... she was younger than him too!
After the last of the trickortreaters left we jumped in the car and headed north to the cabin.  WAHOO!

My hubby and brother were there already.  And they were funny!   Told them all about the trickortreaters and then we ate and headed to bed.
Saturday was a beautiful day up there.  They have had snow already that actually stuck on the ground for a day.  But Saturday was BEAUTIFUL!  approx 1:30ish by brother and I went canoeing.  The entire time we were preparing to go Hubby was trying to darken our mood.  i.e. You're crazy.  It's too cold.  You'll freeze.  What if you tip?  you are going to miss your get out point.  You're going be cold and miserable.   Once you miss your get out point then what you'll get lost in the woods.  He had my brother terrified so I pulled him (bro) near me and said he's been once he has no clue of anything that relates to canoeing you will be fine with me.  Just smile!

So we launched and it was wonderful.  The breeze was chilly but the sun made up for it.  The actual temp was 46 when we launched.   We did great no tipping, no wet nothing.   We stopped a few times to relax on shore and take in the view.   It was beautiful.   We followed two cranes down the entire river they would stop and wait for us.  Silly birds they were probably thinking they keep coming and coming and coming. tee hee ha ha   One of the cranes were huge!  We guessed him to be approx 3 - 3.5 ft tall!   We floated right under a Bald eagle perched in a tree.  It's been 20 years since my brother had seen one.  The look on his face when that Eagle looked right at him... priceless!    We also saw a muskrat?   It looked like a really really pretty ferret.  I don't know what it was.  But it's fur was beautiful.  mink?  I dunno.
We floated for approx 3 hours and then we made it to our destination.  We were happy to be there as the last 1/2 hour we started to get a bit chilly.
Home to cook and then to attend the party.
It was fun as well and some of the costumes were pretty good.  Not many dressed up.  I think that's funny not to dress for a halloween party.  Seriously throw on cowboy hat or something.  Hubby went as himself also, bro was a tourist.
Sunday it was a bit chilly we had to get firewood and chop some up.  Brother fell into a hole and twisted his ankle bad.  Bruised and swollen.  YiKES!    He was very tired of me fussing over him by the end of that day!
Had a big supper and getting ready for bed when the neighbors stopped by for a beer.
    Finally BED!!!
Monday raining and chilly .  It turned nice and then the temps kept rising as we were driving home (south).   We passed a truck from Alaska the temp was 48 and he was driving on I-75 with all of his windows open and a huge smile on his face.   Silly lil Eskimo!
When we got home the temp outside was 69!!!!  Crazy!!
    It was a great weekend.
Watched a really really really dumb movie last night... cloverfield... anybody else totally confused by this movie?

I voted today!!  I was at the polls at 6:57 am and I didn't get out of there until 8:16 !!  I was voter number 102.  I think they need to figure a way to speed that up.  And why when they expect RECORD turnouts are there so few booths? At the place I voted there were 8.  Why not 20?
Just my thoughts.   I voted and now when things go screwy I can jump up and say something because I VOTED!!

Hope your day is great and that you will take the time to vote as well.
