    Keeping my head up!

    Hello!
Well it's been crazy for me lately.   I've been a bit overwhelmed and that's not a good thing for me.   I used to handle stuff so much better, I don't know if as I'm getting OLDER if things just seem to bother me more or what.  But I get so wound up that I shut down.  I can't focus, cant complete a damn thing so I just get more buried.  Oh heck I'm up to my neck!  (tee hee remember that book?)   So I've done something a bit smart.  I gave my boss the heads up that I'm overwhelmed and that I've asked for help.  Smart eh?   He's such a nice guy he's says, o.k. whatever you want to pay them is fine by me, lets just get you happy again.   Nice eh?   I'm not going to let him pay anybody, I've gotten myself into this mess and I'm gonna get myself out.

    O.K. onto happy stuff.....
Well last weekend was a blast!!  Myself, My sister, and two of my great friends went up north to my cabin for a girls weekend away.   FUN FUN FUN FUN!!
We only planned one thing.... NO COOKING!!   Cool eh?    I'm usually cooking from the time my feet hit the floor up there until I go to bed.  And I usually don't mind.  But we decided to call this a Mommy/Wife's weekend off.   So we went out to eat.  It was great.   Just nice and relaxing, drinking some beers around the fire pit.    Went to the River via the back roads and Oh my did I see one of the biggest birds I've ever seen.  It was HUGE!!     And I'm a bit confused by it.   We have these birds here that everyone says they are "turkey buzzards" and they don't have the yucky red head that vultures have.   But the one I saw this weekend did!   Holy Cow!   I'm not kidding you when I tell you that it stood  at least 4 ft tall.  It's wing span was as long as the pick up truck!   HUGE!!  But yet graceful.   Not at all pretty but graceful.  We ran across some woods on fire SPOOKY!!   Pretty freaky seeing flames coming out of trees and smoke lots of smoke.   We wanted to make sure that it was known it was burning, so we drove around it looking for someone, (no cell phone service up there).  We found a fireman, he said it was a "controlled burn" set by the DNR that got outta control..... hmmmmm how can you have a controlled burn in the dry spring with 20 mph winds?   Well it almost burned down a 2 million dollar cabin!  NOT GOOD!!   But they got it under control.

While at the river we saw lots more wildlife.  Even an Egret and a Bald Eagle, I don't care what anyone says when you see an eagle that close where you can see the green of the eyes... WOW!!!  Mystical, magical and all of the above...

So it was a lot of fun with the girls.  It was really hot up there too!  Got some sun even.   Funny thing is... I had sunblock on and looked better than the others whom didn't use block.  USE YOUR SUN BLOCK!    Oh and we rescued not one, not two but 3 dogs this past weekend.  Got them all home safe and sound thank goodness!!

Well tonight is our last night of bowling and we are celebrating my bowling bday!!   Only problem is... it's position night as well.  I told the girls that we need to bowl good so I need to take it easy on the drinking so that I can bowl well.   They looked at one another and then back at me and just laughed.   O.K. well I'm going to try.   Slowly drink the beer!  HA!

O.K. that's what's been going on in my neck of the woods!   I hope you all are having a great day!!
    Take Care

    The Playground is Closed MISTER!!

    Hello all!!

Had a great time at the wedding!!   I decided to take my Aunt whom is also my very good friend.  She is close to the bride as well, so it all worked out.  OH and this is funny...(not that I should post it, but oh well)... every time my hubby wanted to ya know, I'd ask him, " you going to the wedding?"  He'd reply, "no" and I would just say sorry playground is closed sir, please try your visit again another day.  Good night! tee hee ha ha.... Then he was asking so how long is this gonna go on??  I just laughed!

The reception was soooo nice!!  It was huge, but it never felt crowded!  There wasn't ever a line in the women's restroom either.   It was really nice.  The bride looked BEAUTIFUL!  The groom was super handsome too!!   I didn't care for the ceremony much.  Which isn't nice to say.  I would never tell the bride that, but you wont tell her would ya?    I was raised catholic, and have even mass at this church before.  I don't know why, but I had this really bad vibe from the priest.  It was freaking me out a bit.  I tried to blow it off as nothing and I just got chills!  At one point in the mass I grabbed my Aunt's hand when she went up for communion.  She looked at me like I was crazy.  I leaned over to her and said, please go to the woman and not the priest.  She did, thank goodness.  When we went to the car, she asked me what was up and I told her.  She just shook her head at me.  I talked to a few others since that evening and they said something similar that they weren't "moved" by the priest or that he just didn't give off a nice vibe.  I don't know.  I never ever claimed to be normal!!!

Very excited about this weekend as my sister, and two of my girlfriends are going north to the cabin to enjoy some down time.   We have decided we aren't cooking all weekend!!!  It's going to be a great time, nice and relaxing.  The weather is supposed to be awesome too, so we can have a fire.

Well I need to get to work, I've been slacking and it's gonna kick me in the face soon!  So I better try to fix some of it!

Take care and have a great weekend!!

All Dressed up and Nobody to go with!!

    Hello all!
Hope your Easter was wonderful.  Mine was busy but good!!
I have a dilemma!!  UGH!!  When don't I?  tee hee ha ha   O.K. remember the wedding I was telling you about?  Well it's this Saturday.  It's going to be a HUGE wedding like 600 people huge.  It's at a very beautiful church and a fancy fancy reception hall.  Well my hubby (MR. HAPPY) tells me last night that he's not going because he has nothing to wear.  OMG are you sure you're not a woman!!??  O.K. so I go through HIS closet and find some pants, yes, they are a bit tight, but they will work.  He then starts the sighing and the stomping around.  I ask what's the matter now?  Do you want me to go buy a new pair of pants for you?  WHAT?!?!?!?     I then get the sob story... "I don't want to go to this thing, I'll know no one and you'll be visiting and dancing all night and I'll be sitting at the table bored outta my mind and you wont want to come home until the wee hours of the morning.  Can't you find someone else to be your date?"
I just shake my head and walk away, because I want to CHOKE him!   My baby brother asked a while back if I needed a date for this wedding and if so to call him.... Well he's in Florida!!  I could take my best friend/Aunt with me but UGH!!  Mind you he's known about this wedding for well over a year and now he tells me 5 days before the wedding that He doesn't want to go?!?!?   Did I mention I wanted to CHOKE HIM?!?!?!?
O.K. so all of the "wonderful" things I do with you and your family and then you want to dump me as your date for this weekend? I'm gonna choke him!!
So now I'm sitting here thinking about who to ask to go with me.... I think I'll call my Girlfriend and see if her lil brother is going as her date as her man is out of the Country.  I would just go stag, but I feel guilty about that!  I mean I RSVP'd for 2.  And I just don't think that's right.
Well I better get to making some phone calls!!  And if no one is available, then guess what MR. HAPPY... YOU ARE GOING!!   Last time I made him go to a wedding he didn't want to attend he was a major butt head all night long!  Wouldn't let anyone take our photo together.  Wouldn't dance with me.  Threatened to leave me there 100 times.  It wasn't pleasant!  So do I want to replay that?  NOPE...
    Ah hell what to do?!?!?

    common sense

I received this via email from a friend... I think it's worth a post!!

    Common Sense  Obituary :

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common
Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how
old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic
red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable
    lessons as:

Knowing when to come in out of the rain;  Why the early
bird gets the worm;  Life isn't always fair;  and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies
(don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults,
    not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when
well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports
of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a
    classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch;
and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened
    his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers
for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining
their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were
required to get parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a
band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student
became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.  Common Sense lost the
will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became
businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend
yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you
    for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a
woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She
spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and his wife,
Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights,
Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he
was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the
    majority and do nothing.
