    A busy weekend.

    Hello !!!
Hope your weekend was a great as mine.  It was busy but good.   Friday I went to watch my friends kids play soccer.  Ummm she failed to mention that it was family fun night at their fields!  Unlimited, Free, ALL YOU CAN eat cotton candy was being served....YIKES!  And boy oh boy were those kiddos wired!   Both kids won their games which was great.    After the game my friend came over for a bit to share some laughs and a cocktail.

Saturday AM up early.. hubby had to work (YIPEE!!) and I called and woke my friend up and said get your garden gloves on we are working in the dirt today.  Went over and helped her in her yard for about 5 hours.  She is so funny, her excuse always is I don't know a weed from a flower.  My reply is always... do you know what grass looks like?   Tee hee ha ha .... Her gardens are looking better, much more work needed but we'll get there.  Saturday night we watched our Red Wings pummel the pens!  It was such a great game!!  Then to bed as I was whipped!

Sunday of course we are up early.  Went and did some errands in the am and then to a 1st bday party.  It was a great party.  It was like we were at a baseball game.   Very good turn out!

Sunday evening I cooked what I thought was a delicious supper, grilled shrimp, baked tators and broccoli.  Well hubby didn't like having to "peel" the shrimp and he complained the entire way through... He will be hungry for a week!  I don't tolerate complaints well.  If you state I'm not crazy about this once I'm fine with it.  But when a grown man whines about dinner, well I'm on strike !
    Tee hee ha ha

Have to go to the Dr. today with Mom to schedule the stent procedure.  And get some questions answered.
    Hope it goes well.

I hope you have a fabulous week!  xoxoxoxo

    whats up

    Hello All!
Well Dad had a fabulous Birthday!  It was great all but 1 of his kids where there.  All of his grand babies were there.  He was in heaven!   And best of all he didn't stay in the kitchen the whole day.  We all decided no cookin for him and we all brought stuff.  It was perfect.
I also got him the perfect gift..... an herb garden.  Well I had to buy all the herbs and the pots and put it together.  He was over the moon!!    I'm happy it worked out as good as I pictured it.  Ya know how that never happens for me, i.e. rototiller, leaf blower, etc.

Got lots of work done in my gardens this past weekend.   My mom came by and helped and then dropped a bomb on me.   She has to have a stint put in her valve I guess.  She is down playing it.  It's not surgery but a procedure... blah blah blah.   It's freakin serious mom!   UGH!    So we have to go to a few dr. appts and such within the next week to get things rolling.    I'd appreciate any prayers you can say for her.
    Its very scarry for me.

Went to a friends softball game to cheer her on and OH BOY... it was Drama ball!  It's an all women's league and whoa!   It was just odd to see these women screaming and such.  It wasn't pretty!

My psycho sister whom I choose not to speak to or associate with because of the hell she puts in my life when I do, has a very brilliant daughter.   I haven't really gotten to know her all that well since I don't speak to my sister.  I didn't want the kids to feel like they are in the "middle".  Well the daughter who happens to be almost 16 asked to talk to me alone.  And she very nicely let me have it.  She thinks it's time I forgive her mom and said it's my fault that the family is in riff and it's causing the entire family to be uncomfortable.  hmmmmm.................... I'll do a blog all about her next.

Hope your day is beautiful.  I hope the sun is warming your soul.  I hope that all of flowers are blooming.

    Happy Birthday Daddy!

Tomorrow will be my Daddy's Birthday.
He thinks it's a real joke that we all fight over which day his bday falls on.  I know the real date and he makes me promise to just smile when asked.    You see when we were younger it was always easy to remember, because Memorial day fell on the 31st.  And his bday was the 30th.  Well when they changed the holiday, well everything went to heck!  tee hee!!  He always says if you can't remember I'm not tellin and that means I don't get older.  tee hee

My dad is an amazing man.  I look just like him!  He was born in France and raised in Brazil.  By the time he came to the USA at age 9 he had been through 8 different countries and knew 7 different languages.  The only thing he knew in English was Please and ice cream.   He worked very hard in school and graduated with honors.  He did become a citizen of the USA as well.  And when he turned 18 he joined the US Army.
He always says he served with Elvis.   It makes him feel cool.  But the real story shhhhhhhhhhhh is that He and Elvis were at the same airport once.  tee hee ha ha

My father is a work a holic always has been and always will be.   At this current time he works two full time jobs and does side jobs on the weekends.   I think it's what keeps him going.  It drives me crazy!!   His passion is cooking.  Recently he and his wife remodeled the house.  She got to pick out any thing and everything......except the kitchen.  He planned it and tweaked it and just made it his own.  You can tell it too now that it's done.  When he's working in there we have a place to "visit" him without being in the way and maybe lending a hand or two, if he allows us to.
My father is the dad to 7 children, no they are not all his "blood" five are, but the way he loves us all you would never know. His oldest child is 43 and his baby is 22.  We older children had friends that called him captain because he demand respect.  It was so different with each child and the older he got.   He adores his grandchildren.  When they walk in his world lights up and everything stops until he gets his hugs, kisses and high fives.
The only thing this man knows is to do for his children, almost to a fault.  There is nothing he will not do, if the boys wanna wrestle he joins in.  If we are water skiing he'll join in.  If he's not working and there you can guarantee that he will join in.  And you should see him DANCE!  HOLY COW he's an amazing dancer!

I love him.  I adore him.  I respect him.   He is my daddy!
I love you Daddy, Happy 69th birthday... may the days ahead of you be as busy as you wish!

    Isn't he so cute!!
(photo taken just after he zip lined through the jungle this past spring).  He has always wanted to skydive and his wife will not allow it.  I wanted to give him that gift and the brothers said, oh no it will start a war.  tee hee ha ha
So I don't know what to give him.

    (updated) Fingers Crossed Please.....

Guess what I did......  tee hee ha ha
I applied to adopt a rescue dog.  YEAH!!   Oh I so hope that she is able to be a member of our family.   She is so beautiful!!  She is actually in prison right now, yes a human prison learning all her basic commands and manners.  She is to be released from the program in June.  Oh man I hope that she gets to come home to me then!!
So if you could just keep your fingers crossed that this all goes through, I'd so appreciate it.  Once I've gotten some word from the rescue I'll post some photos of her.
It's crazy, you can totally fall in love with someone and never have met them....
I'm trying to not get my hopes up but man it's hard!
I don't see any reason why our application wouldn't be approved, but you still worry.  Silly I know.

Since our girl passed on Christmas day 2008 our house seems so empty.  I can not wait to meet her!

O.K. so still trying to keep my hopes in check, ya that's not really working out for me is it?

Hopefully I'll have some good news soon!!!

Update:  well I just got an email.   It looks like another family is going to get her. I'm crushed.
I don't understand how that can be when I talked to one of the workers last night she clearly stated no one was asking about her.  But then the boss emails me back and said there is another family in the final stages of adopting her.   UGH!
I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.  Stupid Me!
But I wanted to let you know so that you can now uncross yourselves so that you don't get stuck like that.  I am sure that another lost soul will find it's way to me.  Why this dog had my heart from the start, I'm not sure.
Thanks all for your thoughts, and words.

    It's God's Land.

    Hello All!
Hope that your Memorial Weekend was a fabulous one.  And that we all took some time to remember the reason for the day.  God Bless em all!

Well Friday I did go out dancin with the girls.  FUN!!!   Super FUN!!  We had a DD which was my friends father which happens to be my boss.  It was cool.  He thinks we are all super silly and crazy! tee hee ha ha  He's not far off!
I was a tired girl with lots of beer in me and decided I didn't want to go into the last stop the girls made. So I stayed in the vehicle with our DD and watched movies.  Well about 20 minutes of one and then good night! tee hee ha ha I slept the entire way home too!  tee hee ha ha
When I got home I crawled into bed and it was 3:15AM, hubby woke me up to hit the road for up north at 5:30am... UGH!!!!!!! Not enough sleep!  Still had the effects of the beer going! WHEW!  Not pretty!
But I made it through the day.  I did get a few winks of sleep on the way up and laid down again once we got there and got everything unpacked.

We have a neighbor (I'll Call him R) up there that is a vet from Veitn@m.   He has always been kind and loving to both hubby and I.  He adores my hubby.   This weekend he was not nice.  There were lots and lots of people up all around us.  People that haven't been up in 4+ years were there this past weekend.  They had the whole family up there.  Probably 5 adults and 8 kids.  They were having such a great time... playing ball, Frisbee, games, and etc.  the adults played with those kids All weekend long.
At one point they all were playing botchee ball (sp) and R was very restless.  And crabby too!  He started talking loudly from my yard hoping the family would hear them.  He wasn't being nice.   Their games sometimes trickled into R's property.  R was not happy at all!  He started to get up to go yell at them.   I told him OH NO YOU ARE NOT!   Listen to that laughter, that family has not been up in 4+ years and I've not heard anything but laughter coming from over there leave them be.   And you surely aren't going from my property over there to yell at them.
R said:  They are disrespecting my property, it's my property and I don't want them there!
I told him it is GOD's land he put them there to grow love as a family and you just pay the bills on the land and want to stop God's work?
He went home.    He came back the next day and tried to yell at me and I stopped him before he had a chance.
He's got mental issues, I know that.  It does not excuse his behavior with me. I told him that.  He didn't like it one bit.  I don't care.   Everyone in his family treats him like royalty because they are afraid of his temper.  I don't play by those rules.    Before we left to come home he and hubby had some beers together and talked about how he doesn't get why my hubby allows me to be so sassy, and that he's sorry he made me mad.
Tee hee ha ha ha ha .... "allows me to be sassy"    tee hee ha ha
Wake up mister this is 2009 and women speak!

It was a good weekend, great weather, saw some super cool birds that I've not seen before.  The hummers were very happy to see us ( they follow hubby everywhere!  and he purposely doesn't wear red while there), the flowers were happy to be cleaned of weeds and grass.  And a friend planted some potatoes for us in my flower beds (ha).

I hope you are having a great day!

    I'm smiling today!!

I've got a smile on my face today and it feels fabulous!!  Been a while since I've been able to smile like this.  Ya know what I mean where your face and soul feel the same!   Glorious I tell ya!

I've been playing in the dirt every night after work and it's been great!  My flowers have NEVER looked better.  Neighbor guy decided he wanted to kill all his flowers with round up so I yelled at him to stop and I went over there and dug lots more stuff up.  I've never agreed with this guy and his thoughts from day one and this was another reason to not like him in my book.   UGH!
My hubby thinks that I'm taking God's therapy (workin in the dirt) to an OCD level.  tee hee ha ha   I just told him you'll love it when I'm done it will look good and there will be less grass to mow.  He laughed and said yes, but our water bill will be the size of a years worth of mortgage payments.  UGH!  MEN!

Today a good friend of mine asked me to lunch.  He's coming to pick me up on his Harley for lunch.  I'm so excited.  Not been able to get my lil scooter out as $ was an issue and I have no insurance on it yet.  Hopefully soon though!  So that's another thing to smile about.

Hubby and I are going North for the long weekend.  I'm not going camping at the Colorado River this year.  Kinda bummed about it.  But it was the decision I made.  I'll go to California's Ocean Beach some time this year instead.  If the money is available. So hubby told me last night instead of going up with the traffic Friday night lets leave Saturday morning early.  No complaints from me.   My girls wanted to all go out dancing that Friday night and my boss (whom is also my friends father) is going to be our DD.  It's funny he drops us off at the door and watches dvd's in the parking lot waiting for us.  He's so excited when we come out because he loves to hear our stories and laughter and of course he can't live without 6+ girls singing at the top of their lungs all the way home.  tee hee ha ha

I hope your day is fantastic and that your soul is smiling!

WAHOO!!  Just got back from a great lunch hour.  Spent it on the back of a HD riding around the lakes.  It's 80 degrees and that hour just flew by!  But it was AWESOME!
    Wahoo!

    May 18

    Take that mr. rototiller!

    Tee hee ha ha
Well I took another spin on the rototiller and let me tell you I came out victorious!  Tee hee ha ha

Friday after work we were forcasted rain.  So I hurried home, changed clothes and ran to the rototiller.  I had it under control when I did the final spin on the garden.  WAHOO!

Got the tomatoes, cukes, peppers and zucchini planted and then it poured rain for the remainder of the night into the morning.  Saturday it was still too wet to plant or play out there.  I had to help a friend move some furniture.  Why is it when women try to do something that involves muscle power we laugh?  Seriously we 4 girls must've lifted that couch no less than six times and the roar of laughter erupted each time.  Crazy women!  Tee hee ha ha

Sunday was beautiful.  A wee bit chilly and windy but good enough to plant.
We planted seeds in the garden, Radishes, spinach, onions, kohlrabi and beans.
Flower beds have almost all been weeded and turned over. Got 2 small ones to tend to still, but I'm getting there and I'm very proud of me for doing such good work this year in the dirt.

Last night went by to see sis and lil man.  Oh my was he dirty.  When it was time for the bath he hollered at me... Aunt Shelly come help me and mom get this dirt off.  So I did.  It's amazing how fast they grow.
We played and scrubbed and played some more.  I was almost as wet as he was. tee hee

I hope you all have a good week and that your gardens are growing beautiful and maybe yummy things. ttfn

    Me: 1 Rototiller: 7

I love to garden.  I've always loved it.  But for the past year or so my mind, and heart just weren't into it.  I'd forgotten along the way what it is that I like to do.

I'm making up for lost time now.   I've gotta tell you playing in the dirt is God's therapy.  Working with living things is just healing.   Every day I'm in the dirt pulling weeds, turning soil and loving it.   I've moved plants and gave some away.  Sometimes I'm even amazed at how much plants reproduce.

I've decided to plant a veggie garden this year as well.  It's been 3 years since I've done that.   My cousin Jenny was buggin me about us having a garden together since she lives in an apartment.  So we are doing it.
So last night we had to rototiller it all up.  OMG!   That machine was a beast.  I don't remember ever getting bucked off from a rototiller before but damn if it didnt' happen to us both last night.   It was funny as heck I'll tell ya.  Two blondes and this machine!  If you didn't have the rear tines buried, well it was taking you across the yard quickly.   Of course the hubby told us you two can't handle this and you'll never be able to do it.  HA !    WRONG THING TO SAY!!   "Don't tell me DON'T!"  HA!    He even lost control of it a time or two and I almost peed myself laughing so hard.  FINALLY, I told him turn the throttle down a bit and lets see if I can handle it.  DING DING!   It worked like a charm.    Don't get me wrong it was still a beast but it was way better.  My arms feel like JELLO today.  And I have to rototill it one more time tonight.  It should be better hopefully!  Tee hee!!
We are planting some Tomatoes, peppers, beans, kohlrabi, radishes, zucchini, summer squash, onions, cukes, and maybe some acorn squash as well.   MMMMM  getting hungry just thinking about it.

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.  Get out there and put your toes in the dirt and relax, it's God's therapy.    OH and here's a tip from my mother in law the ultimate gardener, put newspaper down around your plant.  Cover with a wee bit of dirt and water well, this will keep the weeds down and hold the moisture in.

    Brothers and moms

What a weekend.   WHEW!!  It was fabulous!
Friday night as my brother from CA was in town for his Great Grandma's funeral (see blog entry 112), we decided to have a "small" get together at my home.  Well small turned into big.   Tee hee ha ha   I cooked my dupa off.

My brother D came over with his wife and 3 kids.  It was great this was the first time ever he's been to my home.   I was over the moon!   Then the lil brothers A and N came over and stayed way late.  We played cards, drank some beers and just had a fun night.   My brother A is dating a girl Nat.  And she sings opera.  She will never sing when we ask her for a sample.  But just hanging out around the table playing cards she was singing along with the radio... WOW!!!!   It's like lil angels roll off her tongue with each note.  WOW!!
She was telling me about singing the national anthem for an event at the Palace.

And she said, I so love singing the National Anthem because everybody loves that song.  And if you do a good job at it they really cheer for you and get loud and the crowd is alive, You really don't get that in Opera.

Tee hee ha ha ha   funny!  Can you imagine?  Tee hee ha ha.  It was hard saying goodbye to my brother from CA.  He's very bummed I'm not going camping with them over memorial weekend as I've done for 2 years now.   I just am not in a place financially or mentally to do it right now.  I do hate when he leaves though.

Mom's day was good.  I was to make baked beans.   Ummm they weren't my best.... Don't like it when you cook your buttocks off and make something for hours and hours and it's just "o.k."  grrr!   Oh well .
My hubby's mom had a great day.  Her memory is getting worse.  So sad.  She thinks she already planted her garden and the critters ate it.  Dad says let her think that so she doesn't want to plant it this year.
I found asparagus in the garden and picked it for her and she was so happy.   I've really got to get over there and work in the raspberries.  They are so in need of some TLC.

Woke up this morning and the house was 55 degrees.  BRRR!!  I'm so anal that I wont allow the furnace on from May 1st till October 1st.  Hubby couldn't handle it being that cold and told me it wasn't the furnace running but his time machine and he was fast forwarding Michigan to June! tee hee ha ha

Hope you all had a good weekend and an even better week to come.

    May 08

    Enjoy your day.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL OF YOU!!

I know being a mom is a thankless job sometimes and I hope that you are able to have a YOU day on Sunday.
You don't have to be a woman to be a mom.  There are many men that are doing both roles.
You didn't have to give birth to be a mom.  You could be a step-mom, adoptive mom or just a relative being the mom.

But you are all equally important and deserve a hug, a smile, a thank you and an I love you!

So here's to you doing what you all do and keeping us kids in line, and making sure we always have clean undies!

HOPE YOUR DAY IS AS BEAUTIFUL AS YOU ARE!

USA: One of world's oldest, Bea Cooper, dies at 112

    .
BAY CITY, Michigan / The Bay City Times / May 5, 2009

By Tom Gilchrist | The Bay City Times

Beatrice "Bea" Cooper, the oldest native Michiganian, watched her beloved Detroit Tigers win on Sunday. She died the next morning at 112.

Cooper, of Harbor Beach in Huron County, Michigan's second-oldest resident, "had been coming to funerals right up until early January," said Warren Ramsey, 60, owner of Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach.

"She was mentally sharp," Ramsey said. "Her legs just gave out on her, though."

Ramsey said he stopped to visit Cooper several weeks ago after chatting with his aunt, who lives in the same long-term care facility that housed Bea Cooper.

"I looked in her room and said 'Bea, how are you doing?'" Ramsey said. "She said 'Warren, I'm just laying here waiting for you.'

"She had a wit about her."

Cooper was Michigan's second-oldest resident behind 113-year-old Daisey Bailey of Detroit, according to the Gerontology Research Group, whose researchers use census and other data to validate and compile records of extreme old age.

Cooper was the 24th-oldest person in the U.S. at the time of her death, according to Gerontology Research Group data.

"She was modest about her longevity," said state Rep. Terry L. Brown of Pigeon, who belongs to the same religious denomination - the Community of Christ churches - as Cooper.

"There are a lot of older folks who are, like, 'Hey, I'm 90, and I want to tell everybody about it,'" said Brown, noting he has preached at Cooper's church in Harbor Beach in the past.

Brown presented Cooper with a legislative tribute for her 110th birthday, two years ago.

"This sounds terrible, but she didn't look a day over 80," Brown said. "She was a woman of faith. She was dignified."

Cooper, born Feb. 3, 1897, in Port Hope, was a devout fan of the Detroit Tigers, Ramsey said.

Cooper is survived by a daughter, Thelma Ferguson of Cadillac, and by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

******* 2 of my brothers are her great grand children.

    what's been goin on

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes!  I didn't mean for it to be such a secret. Just wasn't in my usual mood and it seemed just another day.    My friends and family had me celebrating from Wednesday till Sunday.  tee hee...
The butt heads I work with forgot my bday.  Not nice.  Since I am the one to always remember their bdays and get them gifts, cards and maybe a special breakfast.   Oh well I guess I know that it's ok for me to not remember "their day".   OH and the 150.00 golf club I bought for my boss' bday.... Oh he told me on my bday how wonderful it worked and blah blah blah.   So I came in on Thursday pretty upset and told him OH I FORGOT to tell you I can't work on Friday.  HA!

So we had my bowling bday on Thursday and I'm so glad I took Friday off to recover.  WHEW!    Ended up taking my friend to the ER as she thought she was having a heart attack.  SPOOKY.  I was so angry with her work they just sent her on her way with no ride to the hospital just, call us if you can't work on Monday.  Are you kidding me?  So I guess the Man upstairs knew this and sent me to her work for breakfast.  I passed her and followed her until I could call her and she told me what was going on and I'm screaming at her PULL OVER NOW!
Thank goodness it wasn't a heart attack and she's doing much better today.
Friday night went to the bar to watch the RED WINGS! Wahoo!!  FUN.  I needed to remind my DD more than once ya know you are the DD.   Geeesh!

Saturday it was a beautiful day so I worked in the flower beds.  I got one totally perfect.  And then decided to MAKE ANOTHER!  What was I thinking?   UGH!    I've wanted to make this into a flower bed for over 2 years and I dug it up.  Hubby thinks I need to have my head examined.  I need some where to put my ferns and such and this is the place for it.  Saturday night cooked supper for my Aunt, cousin and my hubby.  We had Chirizo sausage with potatoes and eggs in a burrito.  YUMMY!!  Up late playing cards and laughing until tears came down our faces and more than 1 pair of pants were wet.  I'm not saying whose pants.

Sunday up early as I was invited to go see a Detroit Tigers game.  WAHOO Great seats 4th row and one of the guys I was there with almost caught a foul ball.  And may I just say that our Right fielder is SMOKIN HOT!  Whew!   Maglio.  YUMMO!  Tee hee
And then Sunday evening watched the red wings lose in the 3rd overtime.  Man those boys were tired!

And tried to sleep Sunday night.  I swear that is my worst night for sleep always.  I feel anxious the minute I lay down.  Last night I actually fell asleep fast. But woke after only 1.5 hrs and was very restless the remainder of the the night.  Finally at 4am I couldn't take it and got up and started coffee.  Hopefully I will sleep peacefully tonight.

Well that's a look into my side of the planet.  Tee hee ha ha
Hope that you all have a beautiful WEEK !  I'm going to try however we are being audited here at work by the state government on taxes.   UGH!   That's not gonna help my sleep any.  GEESH!

    April 29

    A lil man update

It's been some time since I updated ya all on the antics of Lil Man.  Just a reminder the boy will be 4 at the end of July.

April 15th he told his dad, "dad I don't like these wheels on my bike anymore can you give me a wrench so I can take em off."
His dad said sure buddy, you want help? No, I can do it.  Well he couldn't so dad started it and he finished removing them.  And promptly put them in the garbage.  When we told him you might want them back on why are you throwing them away, he responded with we can put them on our bikes if we want to.
    Tee hee ha ha

He hopped on and rode like the wind, making turns and stops and WOW!   He did crash once and he quickly jumped up and said, tell mom I'm o.k. and on he went on the bike.  Now only 2 weeks after removing the training wheels, he's doing jumps and trying to pop wheelies!   ALL BOY!

I walked into his back yard over the weekend and he was trying to convince his dog that she should swing with him on the swing set.   This dog loves him so.  She allowed him to put her front paws on the swing and then thought better of it and jumped off.  Come on Stella it's fun see, he told her.  She just wagged her tail and circled the swing set.

The other night I stopped by for a minute and lil man was in the front yard with a tape measure.  Pulling this way and that measuring here & there by the tree and then to his dad, he said, Dad I just measured the front grass and it needs to be mowed it's 32 feet.  I'll get the tractor for ya. Tee hee ha ha

A couple of weeks ago at the daycare, there were twin girls and their parents are very religious and they are only allowed to read certain children's books.  They come everyday with the one they are allowed to have.   This day it happened to be a prayer book.   When afternoon comes and it's time for them to leave the girls are in a panic, they can't find their book.   EVERYONE is looking for it.  It's no where to be found.........
until they leave and lil man sees them pull out and drive down the road, and he turns to Ms. Kathy and says, I know where the book is, wanna see it?    Yes please she said.

In 2 seconds he comes out with the book and Ms. Kathy said, did you hide this on them?  Uh Huh.  Why? she said, because they read this everyday and I thought they should read something else.   I looked at it while I was pooping and there are no tractors in it.  So I thought I should hide it.
    Tee hee ha ha

He told his mom, good thing I don't use training wheels anymore because now, I can ride my dirt bike and pop wheelies and go super fast.  The color drained from mom's face.  They have removed the spark plugs from said dirt bike as he was continuously trying to start it on his own to show them he could ride it.

The neighbor down the road stopped by one day and told the mom, I've seen boys play with bikes, balls, and all kinds of toys.   But your boy is the first kid I've ever seen day after day push around the edger, the power washer, a snow blower, a dirt bike and a lawn mower.  I just wanted to see if the kid needed toys and I see he has plenty does he ever play with them?

So that's what's going on in the world of lil man.

    A New Day.

Well I'm back.  A chapter in my life has ended and it's time to heal. That is exactly what I intend to direct all of my energy on.

So back to the happy side of life.

What beautiful weather we are having.  It's supposed to be in the 80's today.  Silly Michigan weather.  One day 30 and the next 80.  CRAZY!

Saw lots of people working in their yards this weekend.   Mowing, and such.  I don't understand the mowing part really. I mean come on the grass just started to wake up.

We had some serious storms over the weekend.  Whew!  Spooky. But we never lost power or trees thank goodness.

Oh I forgot to mention, I love to cook, Last week I cooked a prime rib... oh yummy!  It was delicious.  However while I was cooking it on the grill the winds picked up and blew the grill fire out a couple of times.  YIKES!  But it finally got cooked and it was perfect.

Well I'm very busy at work with being off last week so I must get to the piles taunting me.
Have a beautiful week, and thanks for you love support and prayers.  They were felt and heard.  xoxo

I wont be posting for a while.

    hello all,

I've got some things going on, some of you know what I'm refering to.  And I will not have access to a computer for quite some time.  I will ask that you keep me in your prayers this next week, as I'm doing something that is no fun what-so-ever.  Actually it may be the hardest thing I've ever had to do.  But I'm hoping with your support and Gods love, I will pull through.
Thank you for your support, love and prayers.

    Happy Easter

I got this in an email and its perfect!!

    THE STORY OF EDITH BURNS...

    Happy Easter!

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San  Antonio , Texas
    ..
She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr.
Phillips was a  gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite
    patient was Edith Burns.

One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it  was because
of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there  sat Edith
with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother
    sitting beside her.

Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way:

"Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she
would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be
    saved.

Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he
saw the head nurse, Beverly.    Beverly had first met Edith when she
    was taking her blood pressure.

Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in
    Easter?"

Beverly said, "Why yes I do."

Edith said, "Well, what do you believe about Easter?"

Beverly said, "Well, it's all about egg hunts, going to church, and
dressing up."  Edith kept pressing her about the real meaning of Easter,
and finally led her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Phillips said, " Beverly , don't call Edith into the office quite
yet. I believe there is another delivery taking place in the waiting
    room.

After being called back in the doctor's office, Edith sat down and when
she took a look at the doctor she said, "Dr. Will, why are you so sad?
Are you reading your Bible?  Are you praying?"

Dr. Phillips said gently, "Edith, I'm the doctor and you're the patient"
With  a heavy heart he said, "Your lab report came back and it says you
have cancer, and Edith, you're not going to live very long."

Edith said, "Why Will Phillips, shame on you. Why are you so sad? Do you
think God makes mistakes?  You have just told me I'm  going to see my
precious Lord Jesus, my husband, and my friends. You have just told me
that I am going to celebrate Easter forever, and here you are  having
    difficulty giving me my ticket!"

Dr. Phillips thought to himself, "What a magnificent woman this Edith
    Burns is!"

Edith continued coming to Dr. Phillips. Christmas came and the office
was closed through January 3rd. On the day the office opened,  Edith did
not show up.  Later that afternoon, Edith called Dr. Phillips and said
she would have to be moving her story to the hospital and said,  "Will,
I'm very near home, so would you make sure that they put women in here
next to me in my room who need to know about Easter."

Well, they did just that and women began to come in and share that room
with Edith. Many women were saved. Everybody on that floor from staff to
patients were so excited about Edith, that they started  calling her
Edith Easter; that is everyone  except Phyllis Cross, the head nurse.

Phyllis made it plain that she wanted nothing to do with Edith because
she was a "religious nut". She had been a nurse in an army hospital. She
had seen it all and heard it all. She was the original G.I. Jane. She
had been married three times, she was hard, cold, and did everything by
    the book.

One morning the two nurses who were to attend to Edith were sick.
Edith had the flu and Phyllis Cross had to go in and give her a shot.
When she walked in, Edith had a big smile on her face and said,
"Phyllis, God loves you and I love you, and I have been praying for
    you."

Phyllis Cross said, "Well, you can quit praying for me, it won't work..
    I'm not interested."

Edith said, "Well, I will pray and I have asked God not to let me go
home until you come into the family."

Phyllis Cross said, "Then you will never die because that will never
    happen,"
and curtly walked out of the room.

Every day Phyllis Cross would walk into the room and Edith would say,
"God loves you Phyllis and I love you, and I'm praying for you."

One day Phyllis Cross said she was literally drawn to Edith's room like
a magnet would draw iron. She sat down on the bed and Edith said, "I'm
so glad you have come, because God told me that today is your special
    day"

Phyllis Cross said, "Edith, you have asked everybody here the question,
"Do you believe in Easter but you have never asked me."

Edith said, "Phyllis, I wanted to many times, but God told me to wait
until you asked, and now that you have asked." Edith Burns took her
Bible and shared with Phyllis Cross the Easter Story of the death,
burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Edith said, "Phyllis, do you
    believe in Easter?
Do you believe that Jesus Christ is alive and that He wants to live in
    your heart?"

Phyllis Cross said, "Oh I want to believe that with all of my heart, and
I do want Jesus in my life "Right there, Phyllis Cross prayed and
invited Jesus Christ into her heart. For the first time Phyllis Cross
did not walk out of a hospital room, she was carried out on the wings of
    angels.

Two days later, Phyllis Cross came in and Edith said, "Do you know what
day it is?" Phyllis Cross said, "Why Edith, it's Good Friday."

Edith said, "Oh, no, for you every day is Easter.

    Happy Easter Phyllis!"

Two days later, on Easter Sunday, Phyllis Cross came into work, did some
of her duties and then went down to the flower shop and got some Easter
lilies because she wanted to go up to see Edith and give her some Easter
lilies and wish her a Happy Easter.

When she walked into Edith's room, Edith was in bed. That big black
Bible was on her lap.  Her hands were in that Bible. There was a sweet
smile on her face. When Phyllis Cross went to pick up Edith's hand, she
realized Edith was dead. Her left hand was on John 14: "In my Father's
house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come
again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be
    also."

Her right hand was on Revelation 21:4, "And God will wipe away every
tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death nor sorrow, nor
crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have
    passed away."

Phyllis Cross took one look at that dead body, and then lifted her face
toward heaven, and with tears streaming down here cheeks, said, "Happy
    Easter, Edith - Happy Easter!"

Phyllis Cross left Edith's body, walked out of the room, and over to a
    table
where two student nurses were sitting. She said, "My name is Phyllis
    Cross.
    Do you believe in Easter?"

If you believe in Easter, forward this on. God works in wonderful ways,
and to believe in his power is to truly be free. If Jesus had e-mail,
he'd do the same for you.

    (Actually, maybe He just did)

"Father, bless this person in whatever it is that You know he or she may
    be needing this day"

    March 31

Just put one foot in front of the other.

I did it!!   I stayed up 24++++ hours and walked and walked and walked some more.
There is a University here in MI that put on a cancer relay.  WOW!  What a turn out.  I've never been to one and didn't know what to expect.   My cousin and I arrived in Kzoo approx 11:30am on Saturday.  We unloaded some stuff and then my baby brother put us to work.   His "team" organized this event.  And what a GREAT EVENT it was!
At approx 3:00pm on Saturday they had the "opening ceremonies"... tears tears and more tears..... The cancer survivors or as their shirts said "LIVING PROOF" did the first lap, then they came and put a sash on their care givers and did a lap with them.  Then we all joined in and walked.  Very powerful moments through out the entire event.

Due to the weather they had to hold the event indoors.  There was a DJ blasting music throughout the entire event.  There were different things to do at different times of the event. i.e. tug of war, 3 legged races, Slurpee bongs, etc.

By far the most moving was the lighting of the luminaries.... OMG!!   This is where you take a white paper bag (lunch bag size) and write in honor of or in memory of and someones name.  And then at 9:00pm they shut the lights off and lit them up with a moment of silence.  Since the event was rockin the entire time up until then, your ears rang and the only thing that could be heard was sobs.  Very Powerful!   To read those luminaries with children's photos, with I love and miss you Mom or just simply a name.

At 2 am the my baby brother made his speech.  WOW!   Very Powerful, very moving and completely heart felt.  He asked us all to Pledge, not a promise that you will forget in a week or two but a Pledge of something that we will do to help fight cancer, that you will honor forever.  Both he and my other brother said their pledge out loud over the microphone that they will do whatever it takes to help their sister (me) to quit smoking.  Tears, tears and more tears.... Don't they know not to make me cry when I'm tired.... Geesh!   What choice do I have now?  Plus his entire speech had lots in tears, more in cheers, and he received a standing ovation.  He's so amazing.

At 4:00am my feet were screaming for me to stop so I sat for a few minutes with my feet up.  Around comes a young man maybe 22 yrs old.  Crippled from CP and blind from cancer with his service dog.  He walked one, two, three laps.  With no ease he struggled with his steps but he walked.  That was all I needed up I went and walked on.  If he could walk with the body he had I surely could walk through my pain.  He walked two hours straight!

By 5:30am I was exhausted.  I had been up 24 hours and was on my 4th pot of coffee.   (GOD BLESS COFFEE!!)
My cousin was napping as were many others.  My feet were blistered, my legs were screaming in pain and I was feeling lonely.  I wanted to sit down and take a rest.   I thought wow, I bet this is exactly what a parent of a child with cancer feels.  They pace the floors of hospitals, time and time again, praying and hoping for an end to the cancer and praying for miracles.  I had an end time of 11 AM the parents and loved ones watching their children, mother, father, sister, brother suffering from Cancer never have an "end time" of their pain.  So I walked on for them.

BTW I did have a pedometer on.... I didn't put it on until 3:30 am...by 5:30 am I had walked 6600 steps!  And then I went to check it at 9am.... I lost it... oh well.... I guess God was telling me it's not how many steps you take but that you can take them.  AMEN!!

It was an amazing event that I hope to be able to do again in the future.  I took so much from it I feel I may know a bit more about families and loved ones dealing with cancer feel like.

I read a powerful statement by a young woman that had battled cancer and won!!  It read:  worrying is like a rocking chair it gives you something to do but it gets you no where.   WOW!

If you ever get a chance to participate in an event like this.  Do it.  You will be amazed at what you can do and what others can do as well.

    lifes bank account

This is AWESOME .... something we should all remember.
A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.
As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.
I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
'Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.'
That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.
Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged .. it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it.
    'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice;
I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the  parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life.
Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank  account of memories!
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank. I am still depositing.
'Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
    1. Free your heart from hatred.
    2. Free your mind from worries.
    3. Live simply.
    4. Give more.
    5. Expect less.
